Sandie specialized in domestic violence for over two decades, first as a detective in the Longmont (Colorado) Police Department, then as an investigator at the Boulder District Attorney’s office domestic violence unit.

She is an honored recipient of several awards in Boulder County for her service to victims of domestic violence.

A seasoned presenter at national and regional conferences, Sandie trains diverse groups ranging from law enforcement to community organizations. She is also a practiced lecturer at various academic institutions across Colorado.

Expert Testimony
Sandie has been involved in the evaluation of over 11,000 domestic violence cases and has been qualified as an expert witness in multiple jurisdictions since 2015.

Victim Interviewing
Working with law enforcement investigators, domestic relations and civil attorneys, Sandie conducts a full forensic interview focused on underlying domestic violence dynamics to provide larger context of the power and control issues in the relationship. She also assists criminal defense attorneys who represent self-defending victims who are facing criminal charges.
